The Hibiki 17 Year Old Blended Whiskey is made by blending grain whisky from the Chita distillery with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries. Following that, the whisky is aged in a combination of American white oak, sherry oak, and Japanese Mizunara wood casks for a minimum of 17 years. With notes of honey, vanilla, and oak on the nose and tastes of dried fruit, caramel, and spice on the palate, the resulting whisky is a symphony of flavors and aromas. With notes of sandalwood, incense, and Japanese spice, the whisky has a unique flavor profile thanks in part to the Mizunara oak barrels.
